Devon Logs (The Company)

A warm welcome to devonlogs.co.uk and thank you for visiting our kiln dried firewood website run by Devon Logs. We are a retailer of winter fuels operating in the county of Devon in England. We deliver logs and related goods such as smokeless coal, heat logs, kindling and firelighters to homes and businesses in Devon.

We operate as a Woodsure Ready to Burn approved supplier of kiln dried firewood. All of our logs are guaranteed less than 18% moisture when they are delivered to you by our courier partners at Gregory Distribution. Our registration number is WS463/00001 and Devon Logs is Part of the Logan's Logs Family which has been operating firewood retail expertise for fifteen years and is one of the South West's largest firewood retailers.

Our reviews speak for themselves:

Top service and a very good price, I purchased our winter coal supply from Devon Logs and it was delivered to my door within a couple of days, free delivery. I had a phone call from the office staff to confirm my order and delivery date, which was again very positive. Fantastic service.

Good selection of products. Really pleased with logs, firelighters, kindling and woodlets. Prompt delivery. Will definitely be using again. Thank you.

Devon Logs are very helpful with a friendly delivery driver. I am pleased with my purchase of oak logs.

Devon Logs' Firewood Product Range

We stock a wide range of logs in different formats to suit different customer's needs. For light occasional use, choose nets of logs. They are small, easy to move around and means you can buy just a few logs at a time. Nets are also great if you run a holiday home and provide logs to your guests. You can easily ration logs by providing one or two nets at a time. We sell birch hardwood logs in nets and oak hardwood logs in nets.

The next size up is handy bags. Handy bags are 50 or 60 litres of neatly stacked logs in larger bags. Still quite easy to move around but more care is needed to lift alone because the handy bags are much heavier than nets. Thanks to the way the logs are packed tightly into these bags they are extremely easy to store and stack.

If you light your wood burning stove or open fire through the winter perhaps nightly after work, you will use logs quite quickly and so will benefit from buying firewood in larger quantities to save money. That's where the barrow bags come in. Six barrow bags is probably enough to see you through the winter (usage varies hugely though so call us if you would like help working out how many logs to purchase because we have a good way of figuring it out). Barrow bags are 45cm square at the bottom and 90cm tall. They are fill to the top with logs and need to be moved around with a sactrucs.

Bulk bags are much bigger again and great if you're burning a lot of wood to stay warm. These are essentially a 'dumpy' or 'ton' bag, however, we do not sell firewood by weight because the moisture content is so low. If a retailer were to sell you a ton of seasoned (wet) wood and a ton of kiln dried firewood you would get considerably more kiln dried firewood to the ton because it is so dry and therefore much lighter than seasoned wood. That's why we always sell our logs by volume.

If you are a heavy firewood user and you value convenience and neatness, the large stacked crates of logs are perfect. These are delivered to you ready-stacked so you get a lot more logs in a crate than in a bag because they are placed in with care to ensure as few air gaps as possible.

To save money, buy heat logs. These are products made from waste wood or other organic materials compressed into very high density 'heat logs'. They are environmentally justifiable and cheaper than conventional firewood if measured by the kilowatt heat output.

We also sell smokeless coal and Welsh Anthracite which some customers use on open fires and in multi-fuel stoves.

Finally, don't forget to pick up some kindling and firelighters. The easiest way to get your fire started is to use kiln dried kindling and paraffin wax coated firelighters.
